Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The best early memory was when I performed in Oxford, MS at the Ford Center. This was monumental, not only for myself, but also for the local music culture.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? JAY-Z, American Gangster (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) T.I., Trap Muzik (Deluxe Version) Truth Gordon, Volume 2: High Tide Trap Muzik provided the soundtrack to my life. During my adolescence, I fully resonated with T.I.P. because of our similar upbringing. American Gangster molded my approach due to me being a freshman in college. High Tide, self explanatory.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Sole Purpose (feat. Cozmo Kel)” This song was literally created from a vibe. During a studio session, while playing the guitar and humming the melodics, Cozmo Kel stepped in and began singing. The moment was epic! I truly realized how talented and mind blowing this guy is!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My performance at the Lyric in Oxford alongside of Dolla Black and Big K.R.I.T. was by far one of the most memorable moments in my life. My first son was just born, we had a packed house, and our styles all complemented one another.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I MUST create with some of the artists that has contributed to molding my sound. Tiny Desk is also on the bucket list. And what's an artist without festival season? MEMPHIS IN MAY IS A MUST!!! Also, I need to be posted on the front page of Apple! :D
