In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember when I was really young I would play Minecraft on my Nintendo switch with my dad, and hearing the music in that game really brought it to life I think, it's just so beautiful, and I think it helped to form my taste in music today.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Paucity, Deer Bird Bear Ship Radiohead, OK Computer Slint, Spiderland Spiderland showed me that weirder music could be just as good as normal music. OK computer completely changed the way I view music, it's an art form and not just for fun. Deer bird bear ship is the sole reason I started writing instrumental music.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The life and times of Bashiir Hassan” This is the most technically difficult song I've written, yet I think also expresses so much emotion. I wrote this song over the course of 2 or 3 months, each part of it is like a whole new song yet I think they blend together perfectly.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Writing the album "8766 Hours' was probably the most interesting thing I've ever done. It's a concept album that tells the story of 4 people grieving after the loss of a loved one, though you probably wouldn't be able to tell at first glance.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to go on tour at some point, but I'm not a very big artist at the moment. I do want to at least play local shows until I hopefully have the opportunity to tour one day.
