DJ Mustard has taken a seemingly simple formula of 808s and claps—complete with his infectious “Mustard on the Beat Hoe” tag—from Los Angeles' nightclubs to the masses. This DJ-turned-producer got his start alongside fellow Angeleno upstarts YG, Tyga, and Ty Dolla $ign, among others. In 2011, Mustard and Tyga struck gold (actually double platinum), with the massive hit “Rack City.” It wasn't long after that he expanded beyond his city, producing successful singles for the likes of 2 Chainz and Young Jeezy. In 2013, Mustard released his debut mixtape, Ketchup, and just a few months later announced his signing to JAY Z's Roc Nation.
