Rapper and producer Małach emerged as one of Polish hip-hop’s most prominent figures in the ‘10s, his dogged street spirit weaving through affecting melodies and startling sonic patterns. Successful joint releases with fellow artist Rufuz were followed by ear-grabbing solo work—like 2018 chart-topper Proverbium—as the rapper oscillated between old-school, pop-inflected beats, reflective hooks and pulse-pumping choruses. In 2021, his third solo album BYQ proved that Małach can mature musically without losing any of his sharp edges and potent lyricism that make his output so thrilling.
