Since the late ‘90s, Oneida have filtered their hypnotic post-rock sound through the lens of garage rock, psych, Afrobeat, dub, electronica, Krautrock, and pure noise, never once losing their impressive compositional focus. The Brooklyn-based ensemble has proven particularly fearless by embracing the hypnotic abilities of repetition in their work and daring to release a triple LP, 2009's Rated O, into a world that began moving away from owning physical releases. It might seem like a foolhardy aesthetic except that their music is so energetic, infectious and ecstatic.
