As a songwriter, the Taiwanese performer known as HUSH balances left-field experimentation with cheerful pop. At times, he channels the edgy atmospheres of his solo material, weaving disjointed rhythm and oddball synthesizer sounds into the mix. Yet he's just as likely to hatch tunes with irrepressibly upbeat melodies and refined piano backing. Both sides of the coin are represented here.
