Hip-hop flows through the veins of Pécs-based Halott Pénz, a band at the forefront of Hungary's unstoppable music scene. But while head rhymer Járai Márk and flashy DJ Boros Gábor keep the rap-flavoured jams flowing, the rest of the band rarely stick closely to any one genre. Fluent in funk of both the old-school and electro varieties, always ready with a hard rock power chord or noise explosion, these jovial polymaths have proven adept at concocting glossy alt-pop romantic anthems even while dropping tongue-twisting freestyles atop gritty street beats.
