The Apostles, Op. 49, Pt. 1: III. By the Sea of Galilee, In Caesarea Philippi

Narrator 1:

When Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying:

Jesus:

Whom do men say that I, the Son of man, am?

The Apostles:

Some say John the Baptist some Elias and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

Jesus:

But whom say ye that I am?

Peter:

Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Jesus:

Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My

Father which is in heaven.

Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Soloists, Apostles Chorus and Chorus:

Proclaim unto them that dwell on the earth, and unto every nation, and kindred, and tongue, the everlasting Gospel.

Jesus:

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
