Forgive Yourself

In life there are those who are happy

And those who find strength in someone else

If you think that you cannot be forgiven

It starts in the mirror forgive yourself

In sickness and health we pledged our love

But then where were You when it all fell?

The blackness of their hearts and hands spoiled souls

And it crashed without splashing into hell

The words that You spewed they threw in protest

I held my nose to try and swallow

But the bile and ink inside my body

Ejected Your truth in violent show

I carried my heart away from there

Wrapped in my head with the conviction

That going back was never an option

The divorce was final It was done

Now I live each day in silence

Wanting so much more

A life of my sort of wandering

Just means opening many more doors
