The English punks enlist a Beastie Boy and point their steel toe-caps in new directions. Sledgehammer-riffed opener “Spit It Out” confirms that Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman are no less angry or disdainful on their second album. With the Beasties’ Mike D producing though, their sound’s expanded. “Lies” is as snake-hipped as white-knuckled, “Consume Or Be Consumed” takes in acid rock, and “Steer Clear”’s post-punk electronica duet with Baxter Dury is, by their bracing standards, quite contemplative.
