With their 2002 debut, Dr. Dog offer a lo-fi and intimate collection that introduces listeners to the bare bones of the psychedelic songwriting they’d soon flesh out. “Jealous Man” has more than a hint of The Beatles in it, with a gorgeous, yearning ’60s pop melody and cooing backing vocals, while “I Can’t Fly” is a wiry, folky strummer.
