Signed to YG’s 4Hunnid imprint, PayGotti represents Watts with his whole chest. That became incontrovertible truth on his streetwise pair of 2025 projects, My Evil Thoughts and PTSD, the latter holding features by EBK Jaaybo and Hurricane Wisdom. Having established that foothold, he enters 2026 with the similarly criminal Trenches, a chilling effort brimming with ruthless rhetoric and violent vows. Several tracks previously released as singles appear here, including “Watch It Burn” and “Long Live Gotti (Mafiathon).”
As one would expect given his propensity for drill beats, the threat of death looms large here, addressed with a certain fearlessness on cuts like “Meet Yo Maker” and the title track. Even so, he switches up the beat more than many of his peers, evidenced by the G-funk redux “Welcome 2 the West” and the bright bassbin rattler “2 Up Top.” Guest appearances by Shoreline Mafia and BAK Jay help maintain the project’s momentum, though none perhaps more accessibly than Rucci and D3szn on “EAST 2 DA NORF.”
