On 2026’s EL TRAP DE KOLOMBIA, Medellín-hailing rapper Kris R proudly represented his homeland with hard-hitting tracks that contended for his place in hip-hop history. Arriving some six months later, his next installment essentially doubles down on his vitality as a trapero. Unrelenting yet altogether palatable, ETDK 2 favors consistency of form and clear vision over the contemporary trend-hopping indulged in by so many of his Latin music peers.
Confidence and luxury drape these oft-collaborative songs like a wardrobe’s worth of designer clothes. On early highlight “PLATO TIPICO,” both he and GeezyDee trade verses with ease, while the auspicious, bilingual Cosculluela co-sign “BLANQUITA X EL PRINCI” further amplifies his talents as a spitter.
He shrewdly converts the previously released “GANAS” into an expansive all-star posse cut with De La Rose, Blessd, ROA, Clarent, and Luar La L. Yet there’s this heartfelt element, evident on the conciliatory “4 Life” and resurfacing at various times throughout the album, that sets him apart from others in the melodic-rap pack.
