If indie rockers Kraftklub set the east German town of Chemnitz as an artistic locale to watch, the arch indie pop of Blond further underlined the city as having something to say. It doesn’t hurt that four of the group’s members are siblings, but Blond's gift is their penchant for cutting lyrics against a musical background that wouldn’t be out of place on American alternative radio in the early 2010s. After a pair of well-regarded bilingual EPs, the trio made a name for themselves at home with the albums Martini Sprite (2020), Perlen (2023), and Ich träum doch nur von Liebe (2025).
