Florida electronic music producer C.H.A.Y. combines elements of house, techno, electro, and EDM into an infectious, high-energy brew tailor-made for the dancefloor.
Born and raised in Orlando, Christopher Fratt grew up making music, learning to play drums and piano as a child before gravitating to electronic music. He launched the C.H.A.Y. project in 2017, posting free tracks online and paying his dues by playing out to near-empty clubs before he started to get noticed. Unwilling to limit himself to one particular genre, his music spanned tech-house, electro, and EDM, offering him more exposure. Soon his tracks were being picked up by netlabels like Discovery Project, Bodhi Collective, and Audiophile Deep. C.H.A.Y.'s first major coup was having his single "Who's That?" signed by Dirtybird. He collaborated often with fellow Orlando producer Dead Space; their track "Talkin'" appeared on Toolroom's London Underground 2016 comp, and "Shaded" on Mau5trap's 2019 We Are Friends, Vol. 8. Mau5trap went on to sign C.H.A.Y. to their roster, releasing the EPs Travel Far in 2019 and Your Interpretation in 2020. ~ John D. Buchanan
