Oboist Christopher Palameta is one of the few players of his instrument to specialize in historical oboes. After completing his studies, Palameta became a core member of Toronto's Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra from 2003 to 2007. He is also a researcher into the largely undocumented early history of the oboe. His debut album, Concerti Virtuosi, came as part of Tafelmusik in 2007. He is the director of the wind chamber ensemble Notturna and has recorded several albums with that group; his first album as a featured artist was Johann Gottlieb Janitsch: Sonate da camera, Volume I. Palameta has issued several solo albums, generally championing neglected music for the oboe, including Berlioz's Lost Oboe, which appeared in 2023. That year, Palameta also appeared on Notturna's album Calcutta 1789: À la croisée de l'Europe et de l'Inde.
