Though best known as the first husband of legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, Chuck Mitchell was an accomplished performer in his own right. Beginning in 1965, Chuck toured the then-fledgling folk coffehouse circuit, first solo and then in duo format with his new wife (as Chuck & Joni). The couple divorced in 1968 and he turned to theater, writing and acting in musicals, most notably MR. FOSTER AND MR. TWAIN, which depicted a fictional meeting of Stephen Foster and Mark Twain. He also performed in a one-man show, which drew upon his skills as actor, singer, and guitarist.
