Eric Gales is a Memphis-born blues-rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter. 1991's Eric Gales Band displayed an overdriven tone melding hard rock- and R&B-infused blues licks in a distinctly modern approach to the instrument. Gales issued two further solo outings before teaming with his siblings as the Gales Brothers (with Emmanuel Lynn Gales [aka Little Jimmy King] and Eugene Gales) on 1995's Left Hand Brand. 2001's That's What I Am marked a return to solo recording and was produced by Geza X. 2006's Hendrix-ian Crystal Vision was produced by Shrapnel's Mike Varney. Gales produced 2013's widely acclaimed power trio outing Pinnick-Gales-Pridgen. 2017's confessional Middle of the Road made the Blues Albums chart, while its follow-up, 2019's The Bookends, became the guitarist's first chart-topper. 2022's Crown was produced by Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith. The same team helmed 2025's Tribute to LJK for his late older brother. The set included guest spots from the producers, Buddy Guy, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, and Roosevelt Collier.
