Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In middle school I sang Her Diamonds by Rob Thomas at a talent show. It was way too low for me. But a mom came up to me after the show and told me she could tell how much I loved being on stage. I was like, "Okay, I can do this. I have an audience."
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dua Lipa, Future Nostalgia Deluxe Katy Perry, PRISM OneRepublic, Waking Up Waking Up is the first concept album I ever connected with. I feel like I'm in on a secret when I listen to it. PRISM and Future Nostalgia are pop bangers, and Katy and Dua are so unapologetically themselves. It's inspiring.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Water (Demo)” I wrote Water after I got back from a three-month, cross-country road trip I went on while I was homeless. I was missing how free I felt and the people I had connected with. It's a song about nostalgia -- a sickly sweet mix of mourning and gratitude.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I wrote a 10-minute song and played it for a couple of friends to see if it held their attention. A few days later, one of them texted me and said he was humming a song stuck in his head that morning and realized it was mine.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to play a festival where I look out into the crowd and see nothing but a sea of people. I want to go on tour and have people sing along to my songs in ever city. I want to hug my fans.
