Polychromatic Manchester, England indie outfit Everything Everything emerged in the late 2000s blending arty '80s-style post-punk and synth pop influences with their own vividly kinetic brand of math rock. Beholden to no single formula, the band proved to be both heady and accessible, drawing from a well that runs as deep as Ezra Pound and Steve Reich, the Beatles and Bowie, all stated influences. Their debut, 2010's Man Alive, was nominated for the Mercury Prize, and Everything Everything landed in the U.K. Top Five with the follow-up, 2013's Arc. They repeated that chart placement with 2017's Mercury Prize-nominated A Fever Dream as well as 2020's John Congleton-produced RE-ANIMATOR. Never ones to shy away from topical subject matter, themes of trauma and technology governed their sixth LP, 2022's Raw Data Feel, which incorporated AI-generated lyrics. A Top Five U.K. album, it paved the way for 2024's equally heady concept album Mountainhead.
