Watching my mom and dad's band practice in the basement of my childhood home and their band was called Lixx and they had a music video on MTV when I was a kid.

Aretha Franklin, I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You (Mono)
Talk Talk, Spirit of Eden
Tori Amos, Boys for Pele (Deluxe)
Spirit of Eden, it's devastating and something I'd never be able to achieve with minimalism because I'm a maximalist. Never Loved a Man, her runs are incredible and the songwriting speaks to my soul. Boys for Pele is perfect production.
