Swiss rock band Gölä enjoyed chart-topping, award-winning success in their homeland for several years before switching languages from Swiss German to English in 2004. Led by singer/songwriter/guitarist Marco "Gölä" Pfeuti, the band originally performed songs in Swiss German and made its recording debut in 1998 with the album Uf U Dervo. Subsequent albums increased the group's popularity, but in 2004, Pfeuti left behind his native language and not only began singing songs in English, but changed the configuration of his band. Renamed Burn and pared down to a trio, this new incarnation of the group released one unsuccessful album before switching its name back to Gölä. ~ Jason Birchmeier
