Irish guitarist Gary Moore was mentored by Fleetwood Macās Peter Green, who helped his first professional band, blues-rock outfit Skid Row, land a record deal.
ā He spent three brief stints as a member of Thin Lizzy, contributing iconic solos to the ballad āStill in Love With Youā and their 1979 Gold album, Black Rose: A Rock Legend.
ā āParisienne Walkways,ā his now-signature song, was modeled after āBlue Bossa,ā a jazz standard he performed with his former fusion group, Colosseum II.
ā Skid Row and Thin Lizzy bandmate Phil Lynott duetted with him on āOut in the Fields,ā which peaked near the top of the charts in four different countries.
ā Moore returned to his roots with 1990ās Still Got the Blues, earning his first Billboard Hot 100 appearance with the title track.
ā His side-projects included BBMāa supergroup with two-thirds of Creamāand hard rock band Scars, featuring members of Primal Scream and Skunk Anansie.
