One of the few active pop-R&B vocal groups with commercial presence, Good Girl carry the torch for the likes of TLC, Xscape, and Destiny's Child. The Los Angeles-based quartet reached a broad audience while competing on America's Got Talent and have built a sizable discography of confident singles highlighted by "Thirsty" (2020).
Vocalists and dancers Arielle, Bobbie, JL Bunny, and Megan Nicolle performed together for the first time in 2013, when future manager Dyshon Penn selected them to perform songs popularized by En Vogue and TLC. The showcase went so well that the women opted to form a proper group, and they retained the throwback spirit for their debut EP, '90s Kind of Love, released the following year. Good Girl's profile increased in 2016, during which they released another EP, Goodie (The Appetizer), which appeared on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart, and competed on the 11th season of America's Got Talent. Although they were eliminated in week three, they continued to record and perform. They closed out the decade with "I Can Be Yours" and "Misery," released respectively in 2018 and 2019, and in 2020 issued a greater number of singles including "Thirsty" (featuring a guest verse from Mulatto), "Don't Talk Back," and "Face." ~ Andy Kellman
