Debuting the moniker with "Gwap Hoe" in mid-2023, Gwap 99 went on to release singles like "OUTSIDE," "Outside Shake Down," and collaborations with OG PURPIN, Cali Kilo, and Kayyosamaa before the end of the year. It was April 2024's Soul II Soul-quoting "Back to Reality" that proved to be Gwap 99's breakthrough, when it went viral on TikTok to degree that it ranked at number 29 in Billboard's TikTok Top 50.
