Teije van Vliet was a drum'n'bass producer who recorded as Lenzman. Like many of the '90s drum'n'bass artists who inspired him, the Netherlands, Amsterdam-based van Vliet applied samples sourced from outside genres -- including classic jazz and soul, as revitalized through golden age rap production -- to emotive tracks that prioritized musicality as much as raw dancefloor functionality. In addition to dozens of 12" singles and EPs released since 2007, van Vliet recorded albums for Goldie's Metalheadz and his own North Quarter, namely Looking at the Stars (2014), All for You (2016), and Earth Tones (2017). He also remixed dozens of tracks by other artists, including Madmen & Poets ("Afraid of Jazz"), Pendulum ("The Island"), and Random Movement ("I Stayed Around").He died on July 11, 2026, at the age of 47.
