Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My father had this massive record collection. He would burn some of his favorite songs onto CD’s for the road trips. In my world, I was witnessing the birth of the mixtape. I took pride in taking the CD out, my first steps as the DJ I guess.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Curtis Mayfield, The Very Best of Curtis Mayfield Free Nationals, Free Nationals (Instrumentals) Tim Maia, World Psychedelic Classics 4: Nobody Can Live Forever - The Existential Soul of Tim Maia One of my ex’es showed me this record & it started my journey into the music of Brazil. It changed my life for the better.No skips, sharp shooting features.The baddest soulman that ever lived. Endless inspiration, perfect Sunday morning soundtrack.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing the mainstage at the Jazzfestival in front of 50,000 people, collaborating on Naaman’s album and filling up Mtelus in Montreal with best friends is going to be pretty hard to beat.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There’s a whole lot left but, next on the list is touring in Japan or Brazil.
