Chi è Piotr Anderszewski
Biografia dell'artista
Piotr Anderszewski is one of the most interesting modern-day pianists, with a repertoire centred on Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Schumann. He is a perfectionist whose painstaking approach to recording has yielded a small but perfectly formed catalog. Born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1969, Anderszewski came to widespread attention at the Leeds Piano Competition in 1990, when following a magnificent performance of Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations (1823) that would have guaranteed him a place in the final, he walked out midway through Webern’s Op. 27 Variations (1936). Such is his stature, this self-elimination made no difference to his subsequent career. His Bach is rhythmically alive, conscious of the spirit of dance that underpins it, with a highly pianistic vitality of texture and color, constrained neither by period performance practice nor by modernist aesthetics. In his Chopin and Schumann, his Romantic inclinations and occasionally daring tempos are balanced by a super-refined ear for lyrical poise and harmonic tensions. A compellingly individual musician, Anderszewski delivers his ideas with fierce conviction and superb technique, creating a magical fusion of composer and interpreter.
