Born in Haiti and raised in New York and then Miami, R&B singer Qwote got his big break when he began working with rapper Trina. Their first collaboration, "Phone Sexx," appeared on Trina's 2008 album Still da Baddest. Later that year, Trina made a guest shot on Qwote's own single "Don't Wanna Fight," released by the Slip 'N' Slide label. A remix of the track featuring reggae singer Shaggy soon appeared, and then a David Guetta remix took the track into the clubs and onto the dancefloor. ~ David Jeffries
