A standout band in a new wave of early-2020s California hardcore punk acts, Scowl straddle the line between thrashing chords and upbeat alt rock. The band’s short bursts of howling rage and rock riffs have earned them co-signs and opening slots from a galaxy of artists ranging from Limp Bizkit to Post Malone. Their 2021 debut, How Flowers Grow, found some national traction and soon they increased their audience globally with a major tour in Australia. After signing with Dead Oceans in late 2024, Scowl released their follow-up, Are We All Angels, in April 2025.
