The dreamy, home-recorded indie pop of Shelly is the product of four friends who first came together in 2020 on account of COVID-19 shutdowns. The group went viral with their debut single, the easygoing "Steeeam." The band's members, who include Billboard Top 20 artist Clairo and Saddest Factory signee Claud, then returned to their solo music and/or day jobs until Shelly resurfaced in 2025 with their third and fourth songs, packaged as Shelly 2.
