Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. For 2 decades I was certain that my first concert was Pink Floyd, but it was just a cover band playing in the park by our library, and turns out it didn’t change the magic for me.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Neil Young, Harvest Moon Songs: Ohia, Magnolia Electric Co. Tell us why you chose this song. “Mornings” Mornings, from my album American Boredom- I personally love this song, and while recording the violin I sat at the feet of Dorota Szuta like a baby penguin and played with all the effects on it live.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was slapped by Elton John backstage at the Grammy’s, and I think about it every time I wash my face, cursing cleanliness.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I was really looking forward to recording with Steve Albini, but since his recent passing (RIP) I really want to write a successful jock jam.
