Producer Teqkoi creates lo-fi, downtempo sounds ideal for relaxing and vibing.
• Hailing from Las Cruces, New Mexico, Teqkoi immersed himself in the techno scene in El Paso, Texas, where he joined two different dance crews.
• For years, his nickname was Teqkno. He combined that with his son’s name, Yukoi, to get his stage name.
• Teqkoi was a techno DJ before he began producing around 2014. He officially made his mark on the lo-fi world in 2018, when The Bootleg Boy, a 24/7 lo-fi hip-hop stream, uploaded his remix of Tash Sultana’s “Notion” to the channel.
• The producer was heavily influenced by Lil Peep. He even has a tattoo honoring the late rapper.
