The Chronics are a garage rock band that formed in Umea, Sweden, in 1998. Vocalists and guitarist Henrik Kjellberg and Mattias Eklund both offered up their talents for the debut album from the group, Soulshaker. It was released in 2000 by the Bad Afro Records label. A lot of the tunes from the debut have a comfortable rock & roll feel seamed into them, mixed in with garage rock and a little '60s flavor. Even with the marketing efforts of the debut and some positive press from critics, little info about the Chronics or its members has seemed available.
Some of the tracks from Soulshaker include "Dragster Man," "Highway Woman," "You Look Like Something," "Shine on Me," and "Rocket in the Sky." ~ Charlotte Dillon
