Led by singer/songwriter Tamara Lindeman, the Weather Station's musically and emotionally nimble songs are defined by her silvery voice and clear-eyed lyrics. Early albums like 2011's All of It Was Mine cultivated a down-to-earth style informed by Lindeman's time in Toronto's folk scene. By the time of 2015's Loyalty, the Weather Station's music had grown more abstract, and Lindeman's songwriting more detailed and analytical. Later, she matched the eloquence of her words with equally ambitious music. 2017's The Weather Station paired her version of rock & roll with feminist insights; 2021's Ignorance and its hushed 2022 companion, How Is It That I Should Look at the Stars combined musings on climate change with luxurious jazz and soft rock; and the improvisations of 2025's Humanhood reflected the tumult of being alive in the 2020s.
