Cellist Wen-Sinn Yang has traveled to festivals and concert halls around the globe since winning the Geneva International Music Competition in 1991. He has been a member of several chamber music groups and is also an important educator. At 24, Yang became the principal cellist of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and he performed as a soloist with the group. He made his recording debut in 1999 on the album Music for Three, joining violinist Martin Mumelter and pianist Werner Bartschi. Yang is known for his work in researching obscure 19th century cello concertos by the likes of Carlo Alfredo Piatti and Adrien François Servais. He has a substantial catalog as a soloist and chamber player of recordings. In 2023, he was heard on a recording of Mieczysław Weinberg's Concertino for cello and string orchestra, Op. 43bis, with the Jewish Chamber Orchestra of Munich.
