An important educator in China, pianist Yunjie Chen is also recognized as a specialist in the music of Alexander Scriabin. He performed all ten of that composer's numbered sonatas in a single recital, becoming the first pianist in the world to do so. Chen is the youngest person ever to join the faculty of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. In 2024, under the auspices of a new French-Chinese cultural exchange initiative, he released Scriabin: The Complete Piano Sonatas.
