Siberian native Nina Kraviz was a music journalist before her deep, hypnotic, and sensual take on techno made her one of the most celebrated names in the underground. She got her start on Jus-Ed's Underground Quality label before joining Radio Slave's Rekids, where she put out her debut LP in 2012. The friction between cold, mechanical beats and softly purred vocals is a defining feature of her work, particularly when she pays homage to Chicago's down-and-dirty ghetto house. Even at its most minimal, her music is deeply psychedelic; no wonder her own label is called трип—pronounced “trip.”
