Cantopop duo Shine formed after director Fruit Chan cast Tsui Tin-Yau and Wong Yau-Nam in his 2001 film Hollywood Hong Kong. Both have gone on to prolific acting careers, but it's with music they really sparkle. Many of their early hits have become popular karaoke selections because of their positive lyrics and catchy melodies. The steady beats inspired by rock and hip-hop lend Shine's songs an upbeat, easygoing feeling.
