Beginning in the late ‘60s and lasting until his death from heart failure in 2018, Yigal Bashan was an integral piece of Israel's music scene. Over the course of dozens of albums, he delivered mellow pop-rock and warm, unadorned acoustic folk with conversational vocals and understated melodies. His most treasured work, like the softly observant “Caffe Etzel Berta”, depicted everyday life with genuine warmth and proved a massive influence on subsequent generations of Israeli singer/songwriters.
