Puerto Rican salsa singer Jerry Rivera was born into a musical family. With a father who played guitar and a mother who was a singer, it's no surprise that he recorded his first demo when he was just 14. His first album, Empezando a Vivir, was released when he was still in high school. The record made a name for him in Puerto Rico, but it wasn't until his second release that he began to find a following in the U.S. By the time his third album arrived in 1992, Rivera had reached star status. He would continue releasing albums and enjoying massive popularity for decades to come.
