London-born Derwin Schlecker, better-known as Gold Panda, signed with Ghostly International in 2010 and released his debut full-length, Lucky Shiner, that same year. Clearly influenced by classic IDM acts like Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada, the album's atmospheric tracks were also shot through with veins of microhouse, hip-hop, dubstep, minimal techno, and ambient music. Gold Panda's already lush and intricately detailed music became even more assured on his second album, 2013's Half of Where You Live.
