Trained in Central Thailand's venerable folk tradition and self-created under the sway of glam and punk rock, Bangkok dance scene impresario Kasidit "Gene" Samniang is a cross-dressing diva extraordinaire. The former frontman of multinational electro-punks Futon reworked electro-rock, drum 'n' bass, pop, and disco on his 2009 solo debut Affairs and its 2014 follow-up, Blonde. Singing about love, hate, sex, and dancing to keep from crying, Kasidit's lyrics, in both Thai and English, are as personal as you need them to be.
