Commercial powerhouses in the '70s, Canada's Bachman-Turner Overdrive weren't necessarily innovators, but they weren't interested in changing the face of music. All they wanted to do was boogie, and boogie hard. After starting off with a mellower sound, they quickly realized their future lay in loud guitars. Heavy blues bands were a dime a dozen at the time, and B.T.O. were smart enough to cut the sprawling boogie sound down to tight pop singles.
