Growing up in Norway, producer Geir Jenssen was fascinated by the icy futurism of synthesizers, and in the '80s he joined the dreamy synth-pop band Bel Canto. Going solo in the early '90s, he began releasing experimental techno as Bleep, but it was Biosphere that would prove Jenssen's longest-running and most innovative project. His immersive Biosphere albums layer mesmerizing synth drones with muffled house rhythms, glittering electronic melodies, haunting field recordings, and otherworldly samples, taking listeners on a journey through the outer limits of ambient music.
