The comedy/music troupe The Lonely Island—a.k.a. childhood friends Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone—craft earnest, hilarious pop-culture parodies. After kick-starting their career in the mid-'00s with a number of viral hits, such as the old-school rap nod "Lazy Sunday" and the T-Pain-featuring "I'm On a Boat," the trio went in wackier directions. The electro-tinted hip-hop number "Jack Sparrow" features Michael Bolton crooning about movies, while Solange warbles helpful grammar lessons on the booming "Semicolon," and on the fizzy "Everything Is AWESOME!!!", the trio joins Tegan & Sara to gleefully banter about staying positive.
