Hailing from Madurai, Tamil movie music composer Justin Prabhakaran went from playing keys in his church to starting a band in college, eventually studying audio engineering and making plenty of friends in the Tamil film industry along the way. Assisting composer Harris Jayaraj as sound engineer, he quickly learned the ropes before he started penning background scores. With that foundation, Prabhakaran has shone as a music composer for a wealth of Tamil films since 2014, balancing nostalgic simplicity (inspired by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja) with pop and rock to ably suit each narrative.
