I Still Grieve

I never thought I could conceive

Of a world without you as part of the play

But that was yesterday

And even though I'm still bereaved

I can see you in my mind's eye slip away

Like it was today

I never wanted to be anything I ever been

I just wanted to do what was right up till the end

And with all the things that I've done and I've seen

It's all true, but I still just can't comprehend it all

And I still grieve

I never thought I'd see

Right till then end and the light was gone

I disbelieved as if I'd been deceived

I might have just been naive

But I miss the same air we breathed

For so long

I never wanted for you to slip away and disappear

Please know I tried my best until the end

And when your assimilated back into the machine

I hope it's true, that there's some reason to it all

And I still grieve
