Still, few would have anticipated this curveball: a straight-up Christmas album from the Southern California group. Yet that’s precisely what the succinctly titled Navidad Con La Regida entails, with six familiar covers and one holiday original, all performed in the band’s distinctive style. Timeless favorites like “Feliz Navidad” and “Burrito Sabanero” hold up incredibly well as up-to-date regional Mexican standards, breaking away from any notion of this being a mere novelty record.
