Me In Motion

Me In Motion’s self-titled debut album has the kick of a high-energy drink, combining a biting edge with a refreshing aftertaste. Listeners will note a brash, vaguely Brit-pop feel to these tracks, with more than a hint of new-wave rock. Singer Seth Mosley positions himself as a voice for misfits everywhere, delivering an up-front Christian message with honesty and a touch of punk mania. “Losers” is an ear-grabbing anthem for the world’s outsiders. “You Never Fail Me” is a big, thumping praise tune, while “Seek Justice, Love Mercy” addresses the wrongs of humanity with sweeping spiritual idealism. From the insistent guitar-fueled boogie of “Gotta Be Something” to the souped-up, early-‘80s attack of “Leaving Here Someday,” Me In Motion varies the sound enough to keep things interesting. Avoiding unnecessary arrangement filigree, they plunge into hyperkinetic numbers like “The God I Know” with gusto. The band’s most impressive feat is to make these taut, simple songs sound fresh and personal.
